CHARDONNAY - 2005 - D $162.00 Made from late harvest Chardonnay grapes - a slightly sweet, full bodied style showing good complex fruit. CROUCHEN - 2004 - D $129.60 A dry white varietal which, although delicate and subtle in flavour, has soft and powerful fruit and with more agae will develop into a rich and complex wine. This variety is not so commonly grown, perhaps because it is susceptible to botrytis. It has been grown here at Romavilla since early days, possibly among the original varieties established in the district. It was known here as White Portugal but was correctly identified as Crouchen by the French Ampelographer, Paul Truel, when he visited Romavilla late 1970s. IMPERIAL - Dozen $540.00 A "Madeira" style made from Riesling and Syrian grapes and aged in the warmest part of our cellar, this wine acquires the slightly burnt, smokey and caramel taste which together with a slight sharpness, is o distinctive of the style. ****.5 WINESTATE 1999, 2000"Bouquet has lovely aged characters with a sweet aromatic lift. Ample maturity comes through on the richly structured palate along with pronounced rancio and nutty flavours. Impeccable balance and a persistent sweet nutty finish" and ***** 2003 "Light tawny colour with aged rancio and spirited toffee nose. Not heavy. Strong rancio overtones in a mid-weight style. OLD TAWNY PORT - Dozen $151.20 Made from Shiraz, Syrian and Black Cluster grapes and matured in large wood for 3 years. Old sweet fruit nose, nice soft palate and lingering aftertaste. Wood imparts a dry and long finish, elegant. **** WINESTATE l999. PINOT NOIR - 2006 - Dozen $162.40 Distinctive bouquet, velvety smoothness of the Pinot Noir, the classic variety of Burgundy. Good colour and fruit, the finish soft and clean - good drinking now. Bottled on the 26th November, 2003. RIESLING - 2004 - Dozen $100.00 Made from our Romavilla Riesling grapes, the first variety to be picked each vintage), this wine has a fragrant and aromatic nose with lime and spice on the palate - stelvin closure. ROSE- 2005 - Dozen $118.80 Made from Roma Black Muscat grapes - a unique, slightly sweet style with luscious Muscat fruit. RUBY CABERNET - 2002 - Dozen $108.00 Made from Romavilla Ruby Cabernet grapes and matured in American oak for 14 months. This red has a good balance of soft fruit and oak. SHIRAZ CABERNET - 2003 - Dozen $151.20 Made from 50% Roma Shiraz and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from Forbes. The spicy and rich flavour of Shiraz has been greatly enhanced by the blackcurrant-like bouquet of the noble Cabernet Sauvignon variety. Matured in French and American oak for 13 months - good drinking now, also suitable for medium to long termm cellaring. VERY OLD LIQUEUR MUSCAT - Dozen $540.00 A 15 year old Muscat aged in small wood. A smooth and luscious wine with a good balance of wood and fruit. **** WINESTATE 1999, *****WINESTATE 2005. VERY OLD TAWNY PORT - Dozen $540 A blend of wines averaging 20 years old aged in small wood in the winery's top cellar, the warmest part of the winery. The long maturation has produced a great concentration of very well integrated flavours. A very smooth Old Tawny with the luscious sweetness wel balanced by the rancio character. Awarded five stars by winestate magazine in 1999. VINTAGE PORT - 2002 - Dozen $194.40 Made from Shiraz and Black Cluster grapes, cold fermented on the skins for five days prior to pressing to capture the fruit flavour. After fortification, aged in American oak. This wine exhibits good fruit and clean, subtle oak character. While good drinking now, has great potential to cellar. VIOGNIER - 2006 - Dozen $216.00 Once again we fermented one-third of this vintage in wood - good fruit flavours with subtle and complex oak.
